Sacramento City Council members voted 5-3 Tuesday to allow licensed cultivation within city limits. But it will be months before permits are issued and the city still must establish fees for grower licenses. The city also needs to flesh out its proposed “neighborhood responsibility plan,” in which cultivators would pay fees to cover services that benefit surrounding neighborhoods. Redondo Beach leaders have passed a last-minute ordinance outlawing marijuana cultivation in the city — quite literally. As Californians cast their final ballots on election night, the City Council convened for an uncharacteristically short meeting this week, unanimously approving an urgency moratorium prohibiting outdoor cannabis cultivation in the event that Proposition 64 would pass. Marijuana farmers and business owners have formed the Cannabis Business Council of Santa Barbara County as an education and advocacy organization dedicated to the development of fair cannabis regulations. ARVIN, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — With people set to vote on Proposition 64 at the ballot box next month, the city of Arvin is taking steps to implement an ordinance, just in case the measure passes.
