Cannabis CBD and Cannabis THC
Cannabidiol, also known as CBD is common in both hemp and cannabis plants. It is possible to extract CBD oil from both these plants in order to make CBD products. But, there is one main different between the CBD extracted from hemp plant and CBD extracted from cannabis plant.
Tetrahydrocannabinol or THC is the key difference between the two cannabis plants. If you have done some research on this industry, you will know that industrial hemp contains no more than 0.3% of THC and this is the reason the federal law has legalized its use. This means that the hemp CBD can be cultivated, harvested and processed into legal CBD products which can be used and consumed by patients who rely on it for pain relief. On the other hand, the THC content in cannabis is more than 0.3% which means that the level is relatively higher than what the federal law can accept as legal.
Cannabis CBD and cannabis THC are very similar. In fact, hemp is also cannabis but the difference comes from the THC content. So if you are looking to obtain a cannabis business license, it is important that you understand the difference between cannabis THC and cannabis CBD.
This is because when you are dealing with a substance that is considered to be a Schedule 1 Drug under the federal law, then you have to make sure that its THC content is less than 0.3%. If you don’t understand the difference, you will risk getting into legal trouble.
